A Gin Parlour and Cafe Comes to Town
At long last Manchester has its own Gin Parlour!
Hurrah for Gin we say here at vintagemanchester.com!
The Whim Wham Cafe is the brainchild of Fingers In Pies, Alix Walker’s experimental and design led event agency. Alix has many strings to his bow, but some of you readers will know him as the chap that runs the Whim Wham Club night at Charlies Nightclub every month, so the pedigree of the unusual and artisan is already in place at this permanent fixture on Whitworth Street West.
With promises of “epicurean” delights from the menu, all locally sourced of course, alongside gin cocktails and steampunk mixed with victoriana surroundings this will offer something differently vintage from many of the cafes in the region.
This weekend- 25th May is their official opening weekend… Friday 25th May there is a drinks reception from 8pm along with some nibbles and live music from the house band The Hatstand Medicine Band.
And on Saturday 26th May they are hosting a dinner to launch the new menu, with any 2 courses at £10 per person including a Gin Saloon cocktail on the house.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP for Friday or book a table for Saturday as space is limited.
(Vegetarian, wheat free and vegan options available).
And for those readers who are wondering what epicurean means; Devoted to the pursuit of sensual pleasure, especially to the enjoyment of good food and comfort.
