Pin-up Central at Whim Wham Cafe
Please give a warm welcome to neo burlesque star Ginger La Rouge who had the tiresome job of covering Bethany Jane Davies’s Pin-up Calendar launch for us!
Over to Ginger…
Wednesday 12th December saw the launch party for The Vintage Beauty Parlour 2013 Pin-Up Calendar at the Whim Wham cafe. The cafe’s vintage inspired décor and gin cocktail menu made this the perfect place to host the event.
The calendar features burlesque performers, pin-up models and vintage lovers so there was a wonderful crossover crowd present and it was great to see some familiar faces as well as meeting some new ones. There was a prize for the best dressed and my, I would have found it difficult to choose! Everywhere you looked there were dapper gents, and women in wonderful hats and vintage dresses.
On arrival I was presented with a goody bag containing the calendar as well as make-up and chocolate, as well as a free tipple (I’m not quite sure what it was, but it tasted like Christmas in a glass!)
The night featured performances from three models from the calendar – Jazz singer Kiki DeVille kicked off the entertainment with some Christmassy tunes. I always adore listening to her perform and tonight was no exception. She was followed by fellow singer Bexi Owen, who brought a touch of cheesecake glamour to the night. Frankii Wilde was the burlesque performer for the night – her performance was stunning, leaving a whirlwind of feathers and glitter in her wake.
If you haven’t visited the Whim Wham cafe before it’s well worth a trip – everyone I spoke to was hugely impressed with both the venue and the event.
Many thanks to Ginger- and buy you pinup calendar here.
