Welcome to another instalment of the series,Vintage Portraits, contributed by the very talented Simon from Alt.Studio in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Sitter Profile:

Name: Victoria Claire Payton

Occupation: Lawyer for the housing charity Shelter.  I also run my own vintage clothing, accessory and collectable business Vibrant Vintage with my retired parents Wayne and Kath.  We currently have a stall on Westhoughton market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and travel to various vintage fairs in the North West area.  Furthermore, we organise our own vintage and retro craft fairs in the Bolton and Wigan area.

Theme of the photoshoot: I like the femininity of the 1940′s and 50′s and wanted a sophisticated, glamorous photo shoot.  Simon is a very talanted and warm photographer and I am very pleased with the outcome of the pictures that he took.  Initially I felt a little silly be soon relaxed into the shoot, by the end I didn;t want to go home!

Future use: I often advertise in Vintage Explorer and other such magazines and sometimes the publications want to do an editorial where they ask for photos.  I decided to get some professional photos that I can use for such situations.  Furthermore, I wanted use some of the photos for my website. And finally, following the photo shoot I decided to register with an online modelling website and am currently arranging a number of photo shoots and will be taking part in vintage catwalk shows that I am very excited about.

Simon Hunt is a fashion and portrait photographer that runs Alt Studio, which is a photography studio that specialises in vintage makeovers and tattoo portraits. Simon contributes the Vintage Portrait Series.

By using expert hair and make-up artists and his unique style of photography he creates beautiful vintage styled portraits during fun photo-shoots in his Manchester studio.

“Everyone is unique and has a different taste, no two shoots are ever the same, you can be as crazy or as refined as you like, I like to be challenged in a shoot”
